Summer Camp 2012!
Kinderprep Students In their Organic Garden
"Discover New Jersey"
All are welcome to join Kinderprep for a summer full of fun-filled activities. This summer we will “travel” around our home state of New Jersey. Each week’s theme will focus on an attraction/landmark that will inspire your child to explore, create, interact, and stay active during the summer months. A large map of New Jersey will be on display and we will pinpoint each week the location we our learning about.
Kinderprep will be offering both our Preschool and K-2 camps this summer. Both camps will run for 8 weeks. Camp will begin on July 2, 2012 and end on Aug. 23, 2012. Camp hours are 9a.m.-3p.m. However, your child is welcome to come as early as 7:30a.m. and stay as late as 6:00p.m. Your son/daughter must be registered before June 21st to attend camp. All camp classes fill up quickly, so we suggest you registernow. Should you decide not to attend after registering all monies are non-refundable, NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
SUMMER THEMES:
Week of 7/2 Hooray for the USA – hometown celebrations
We will begin our summer travels in Westfield as the town and Kinderprep get ready for 4th of July festivities. Patriotic songs, flags, firework designs, and red/white/blue collages will get us ready for America’s birthday!
Week of 7/9 The Great Swamp
This week we will learn about animal habitats, pond life, and plants native to New Jersey. Many plants such as strawberries, sunflowers, and geraniums will be grown as well in our garden.
Week of 7/16 Wild West City
Put on your cowboy hat and vest as we gallop into the Old West. We will learn about pioneer life, pan for “gold” and make our own bandanas.
Week of 7/23 The Land of Make Believe
This will be a week of pirates, princesses, and storybook characters as we put our imaginations to work! We invite your child to come dressed as their favorite character (details to follow).
Week of 7/30 Worthington State Forest
New Jersey is home to many state parks. We will pitch a tent, go on a scavenger hunt, sing campfire songs, and use things found in nature to create unique art projects. A hot dog lunch will be provided (details to follow).
Week of 8/6 New Jersey State Museum
There is an artist is each of us and we will use watercolors, clay, pastels, and printing to bring our ideas to life.
Week of 8/13 Von Thun Farm
New Jersey is the “Garden State”! We will learn about farming firsthand as we plant and harvest in our Kinderprep Organic Garden, learn about farm animals, make butter, and have egg races!
Week of 8/20 Cape May
There are 130 miles of beautiful coastline in New Jersey. Join us on an underwater adventure as we learn about fish, dolphins, coral reefs, and other fascinating sea life.
A Typical Camp Day:
Each weekly theme is incorporated into each day. Arts and Crafts, Nature Studies, Water Time, Reading Adventures and plenty of outside time are some of the activities your child will enjoy. Our child friendly playground area will be transformed into outside classrooms. Most of your child’s learning experiences will take place outside. Of course we take a break from the heat in our air-conditioned school with additional learning experiences.
Your child may also sign-up for any of our extra-curricular activities. These activities take place during the course of the day for an additional fee. This summer these activities include: Amazing Athletes. Should your child decide not to participate in these activities they will continue with Kinderprep’s daily schedule.
Tuition
Prices have been calculated on 8 weeks, however you may register for as many weeks as you would like. 50% of the tuition is due at the time of registration and the remaining balance by June 21st!

If your child plans to participate in an extra-curricular activity that week check off also. The remaining balance is due by June 21,2012. Please submit registration form as well as an updated immunization record with your deposit.
All extra-curricular activity fees are to be paid in full by June 21, 2012 . Please check off the activities you wish to register your child for and include a separate check for activity. Amazing Athletes is to be paid directly to them. If we do not have enough students registered the activity will be cancelled.
