Kinderprep is an academic, inclusive preschool and Kindergarten for children ages 21/2 -6.  Kinderprep was founded in 1995 by Lara Pallant and it is currently owned by Lara and Jennifer Kelly. In 2016 Kinderprep expanded adding an Infant and Toddler Program. 

Ms. Pallant holds a BA. in Communications and is certified in Elementary Education, grades Nursery-8th. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children as well as the National Center for Learning Disabilities. As a mother of three adult children and having a child with severe dyslexia Lara knows the importance of giving each student the support, they need to find success in school.

Ms. Kelly holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and BA in Psychology. Jen is also a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Jen too is a mother, and her love of children is apparent each and every day. 

Lara and Jen are actively involved in the daily operation of the school. As active directors Lara and Jen are always available for both parents and staff members. Lara and Jen work hard to accommodate all students and are fully aware of the needs of young children.

Kinderprep's philosophy is to expose the young child to as many different learning experiences as possible, while creating a positive "first school" experience.  Kinderprep's learning environment is designed to enhance children's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.  Schedules, learning centers, and activities are planned to allow children to explore independently, to discover, and to learn through developmentally appropriate play.  Kinderprep's program includes: Circle Time, Learning Centers, Pre-Math and Reading Activities, Science, Art, Music, and plenty of outdoor play. Our program is flexible, encouraging each child to learn at his or her own pace.

Parents find our class sizes to be most desirable. Kinderprep's teacher-student ratios and small class size were established according to what early childhood experts believe is best for the young child. Depending upon the age, class size is between 6-12 students. In addition, we have a highly qualified staff. All of our teachers are college degreed, Certified in Early Childhood Education or completing their mentorship for permanent e certification and all teachers are CPR certified. Each teacher is responsible for their own lesson plans, which are handed in to the director weekly for review.

In order to be a success, we believe it is important for parents to be actively involved. We do this through daily reports, newsletters and parent involvement. Each year parents may volunteer to help with holiday parties, field trips and our fundraiser.  We run a fund-raiser each year for a specific non-profit organization.  We feel it is important for the children to understand we must help others in need and learn the importance of Kindness, which is a theme that resonates throughout our school. We also hold an annual "Family Night" at the end of our school year. All our Kinderprep students and their families are invited to "Family Night", where they can enjoy an evening with food and good company. Parents are also free to come in and do a craft or participate in our weekly reader program. The children always enjoy special visitors.

Kinderprep is definitely a unique and different type of school. We are families with in one big family. As one mother recently said to us after graduation, "What are we going to do without, The Prep ? You have been such a big part of our family and we will never forget you. You were more than we could ever have imagined!"
 
If you are interested in enrolling your child or would like to set up a tour, please contact the school. Typically, we enroll in January for the following school year and for our summer camp. Occasionally, we do have openings during the year.
